Talking on Sydney radio station 2GB, Barnaby Joyce, the Australian Deputy Primary Minister, claimed the Chinese ship was accomplishing much more than just observing the military services drill.
“We are unable to do anything at all about (the ship in Queensland), quite frankly,” he explained.
“They can sit in worldwide waters and do their job.”
Mr Joyce alleged: “But which is just one part of the listening and there are other sections where by they consider to hack in.
“They have personal computers that will in essence attempt and break into our pcs and into our solution areas and interaction networks.
“But (you have to ask) what is attention-grabbing about Australia? It is your iron ore, your fuel, your critical agricultural exports and your alliances and how close your platform is with the United States.
“(China wants to understand) how well your platforms perform jointly in comparison to their platforms and their military.”
The Chinese vessel is entitled to work in the location as it is not accomplishing any economic action.

“Of program we’re watching them,” he reported. “And they’re watching us.
“The legislation of the sea says we can be up in the South China Sea.
“And so we merely say that we assume the very same tolerances and the exact appreciation of those global laws should really apply.”
