Popular actor Chiranjeevi, his actor son Ram Charan, daughter-in-law Upasna Konidela and other family members were attacked by bee shots in Domakonda in Nizamabad district of Telangana on Sunday.
The incident happened when they came to Domakonda for the funeral of the novel’s grandfather Umapathi Rao.
As the actor and other family members were leaving the house for the funeral procession, a swarm of bees came and attacked them.
Security personnel were seen providing cover to Chiranjeevi and his family members and trying to scare the bees with towels. The superstar and others returned home to pick up the cover.
While Chiranjeevi and his family members were safe, some of the people present were hacked to death by bees.
Upsana’s grandfather Umapathi Rao, a retired Indian Administration Service (IAS) officer, died on May 2. He was 92 years old. His funeral was delayed as his family waited for him to return from the United States.
Meanwhile, Upsana shared on social media that Umapati Pump was not only a government employee, he was also an Urdu poet. “K. Umapati Rao of Domakanda’s previous agency – IAS 15 June 1928 to 27 May 2020.
“He witnessed the struggle of the Razakar movement, the freedom struggle of India and many more historical events. An Urdu poet known for his poetry and Tirumala Tirupati was the first executive officer of Devasthanams, a firm believer in the religion of kindness and generosity,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Our grandfather was a man of great principle, selflessness, generosity and sense of humor. His rich long life, many deeds of achievement and compassion will be celebrated and remembered by all. He added.
