Countless numbers plunged into darkness for several hours as Harrow electricity lower strikes

n unplanned energy lower has plunged thousands of north London properties into entire darkness.

The electricity outage struck properties and street lights across Harrow, Stanmore and Wembley at 6pm on Sunday.

An underground electrical power cable fault is staying blamed for triggering the ability outage that is envisioned to last as late as 12.30am on Monday.

Inhabitants took to social media to complain about residence alarms constantly ringing but other folks enjoyed the darkness laying on intimate candlelit dinners ahead of Valentine’s Working day.

A National Grid spokesperson extra: “We apologise for the disruption to people in North West London who have been disconnected this evening.

“Some have already been reconnected and engineers are working hard to be certain that all customers are reconnected as shortly as doable.”

A British isles Electricity Networks statement read: “Our engineers are on their way.

“At this issue we think the challenge is a fault on the superior voltage electrical network impacting a number of thousand houses.

“Specialist engineers from our handle place are also doing the job to divert energy remotely, so it is attainable for your ability to appear back on at any position, but at times we simply cannot restore anyone this way.”
