Kanye West donated 2 2 million, giving college tuition for George Floyd’s daughter

The grant also includes black-owned businesses in crisis in his native Chicago and other cities in exchange for legal fees for Arberry and Taylor’s families.

The West correspondent said he set up a 529 education plan to fully cover college tuition for George Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter, Gianna Floyd.

Western donations have come in the wake of widespread protests across the country following the death. Many voices of entertainment are bringing an end to constitutional racism, police brutality and action from the political system.

Three of the Minneapolis police officers arrested in connection with Floyd’s death appeared in their first court on Thursday afternoon, as several planned memorials have the Floyd family as first members.

Derek Chauvin, the officer who threw Floyd on the ground for about 9 minutes on his neck, was arrested last week and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree genocide. On Wednesday, prosecutors charged him with more serious counts of second-degree murder.

ArberyOn February 23, a black man was shot dead while jogging just outside Brunswick, GA. Three white people have been arrested in connection with his death.

Taylor, an EMT, was shot at least eight times in March, when three officers forced his way into his Kentucky apartment. The FBI has begun an investigation into his death.
