Directed by Alphonse Puthren, Premam Nivin Pauly is one of the hits of her career and since its release in 2015, it has grossed over Rs 600 crore at the box office. The film helped Nivin Pauli secure her stardom in Mollywood and the actor also garnered a lot of fans in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Now Alphonse Puthren has revealed that Dalquar Salman was his first choice to star in Pramam.
Not Nivin Pauli, Dulquer could have been Salman George
Alphonse Puthren made this remark while talking to Film Compomion alone. During the discussion, Alphonse revealed that he wrote the script for Pramam with Dalquar in mind. He also clarified that Anwar Rashid, the producer of Premam, was also interested in playing Dulquer in the film.
However, because of his friendship with Nivin Pauli, Alphonse Puthren decided to cast him in the role of George of Love, and the rest was history. Despite the threat of pirates, the film has received critical acclaim from all angles and has become one of the biggest hits of all time in Mollywood.
How did Mala’s Miss character get hyped?
One of Premam’s main attractions was the spectacular on-screen chemistry between Nivin Pauli and Sai Pallavi. In this film, Sai Pallavi played the role of a guest lecturer named Malar Miss, while Nivin played the role of his student. The two fall in a romantic relationship, just as Miss Mallard lost her memory in an accident.
During the interview, Alphonse Puthren revealed the way he composed the character of Sai Pallavi. According to Alphonse, the character of Malar Miss evolved through the roles of Saurin Shahir and Binoy Fort. These characters, played by Saubin and Shahi, played an important role in improving the overall hype surrounding Malar Miss.
