An official posted at the Rajya Sabha Secretariat has tested positive for the novel’s coronavirus epidemic. His family members, including his wife and children, tested positive for Covid-19.
“A director of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat has confirmed Corona to be positive. His wife and children have also been infected with the virus,” a source said, concealing the development.
This is the first case in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat but the second in Parliament. An elderly landlord was involved with an employee after signing the SARS-COV-2 deal. In April, it was the first of 3,000 such employees working in the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
The entire first floor has been sealed for sanitation
The officer was present in this office till 26th May. His office on the first floor of the Annexe building of the parliament building has been sealed by the Parliament Security Service for sanitation.
“The Parliamentary Security Service is currently sanitizing the entire area, including the parliament room, the washroom on the first floor of the ancillary building, the corridor, the VIP gate and the lift from the staff gate to his room,” the source said.
He further added that the communication search exercise was underway and that all persons who came in contact with him, including his personal staff, were asked to closely monitor their health.
