Producers and performers have been seen locking each other’s horns after several films moved to the OTT platform due to the theaters closing in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdown. Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt watched the moving line and expressed her views indifferently on the issue.
“At the moment the fight between producers and exhibitors is like two spindly guys fighting with a comb like Where’s the audience? #Reality,” he tweeted.
Pujo’s tweet has divided netizens.
One user commented: “Hahahaha so true.”
Another replied: “I don’t understand. Seeing these people fighting, they also know that some of the spectators are sitting at home and some are walking towards the house, yet they are both fighting.”
The controversy erupted after Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushman Khurana-starrer decided to release the upcoming movie “Gulabo Sitabo” on Amazon Prime Video instead of theaters. Multiplex INOX clearly expressed its “extreme dissatisfaction and frustration” for the move.
Soon many more films starring Vidya Balan ‘Shakuntala Devi’ are set to be released on digital platforms.
