Royal Mail to enter new era of stamps with clients able to swap outdated kinds for barcoded versions | United kingdom Information

Royal Mail will make it possible for customers to swap stamps for the equivalent worth of new barcoded ones.

The postal team is transferring to barcoded stamps as section of its modernisation drive, which also contains extra safety options and new services.

As section of the drive, Royal Mail has launched a scheme that will permit consumers swap common stamps for barcoded types.

Non-barcoded stamps will stay legitimate to use until February 2023.

The enhancement will enable buyers view and share videos by scanning the barcoded stamps in the Royal Mail App.

Eligible stamps are the normal 1st and second class “everyday” stamps.

Nick Landon, Royal Mail’s chief business officer, claimed: “As we shift to this remarkable new era of barcoded stamps, make sure you verify your kitchen area drawers, wallets and purses for more mature non-barcoded stamps and make guaranteed you use them up by 31 January 2023.

“If you can not use them up by then, we have set up a swap out scheme as a very simple way to swap your old stamps for our new, digitally-enabled kinds. Welcome to the new earth of barcoded stamps.”
