The Bronx teenager is suffering from facial cracks after being complained by NYPD, the lawyer told CNN

Lawyer Mark Shirian said Jahl Lech (1,) had a crack in his mouth and damage to his jaw.

The New York Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Lech’s arrest, saying the matter was under internal review.

A source familiar with the investigation told CNN that a 16-year-old man was arrested in the Bronx on June 1, and police found him pouring unknown liquids into a pile of rubbish in the middle of the street.

According to his lawyer, Leach was walking home at the time, and was not part of any protests or riots. Shirian told CNN that Leach denied the allegations against him and that no charges had been brought against him.

“There was no basis for his arrest,” Shirian said. “Shall we allow their youth to be handed over to the police in that way?”

Leach’s family held a news conference on Thursday, with supporters wearing shirts saying “justice for the ignorant Leach.” Leach’s family complained that he left his parents in only partial clothing, from a hospital gown.

“I’m demanding justice and I won’t stop until I get it,” Leach’s mother, Daisy Asivedo, told a news conference.

Mayor Bill de Blasio called for an internal police investigation to be completed “with speed and transparency.”

De Blasio said on Thursday, “I want to make sure we get the truth and I want to make sure we follow it based on what we tell our truth.”
