A total of 259 coronavirus cases in South Korea have now been linked to a bunch of nightclubs and bars in Seoul’s entertainment district of Itwan.

It could also give birth to a second cluster, with authorities now racing to contain it.

After an infected person visited multiple clubs, the nightclub group made its debut on May 9th. In the following weeks, authorities examined thousands of people who were in the area or were exposed indirectly

One person, who was affected by the cluster of nightclubs, visited the buffet restaurant. Then, another dinner was reported to have been infected – and it was returned to a logistics center in the city of Buchian.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 3 cases have now been linked to the logistics center – 32 employees and four members of their families.

Authorities estimate that about 4,000 people may have been infected with the virus through the cluster and have so far conducted about 1,920 tests.

City and health officials are still investigating the epidemic, KCDC said.
