Withdraw cash at ATMs using your smartphone in India

Soon, you will be able to withdraw cash from any ATM without touching any part of the machine. AGS Transact Technologies, a provider of cash and digital payment solutions and automation technology, said on Monday it had successfully developed and tested a touchless ATM solution in light of the Kovid-1p epidemic.

The ‘Contactless’ solution in the demo of interested banks enables the customer to perform all the steps required to withdraw cash from the ATM using the mobile application itself.

All the customer has to do is scan the QR code displayed on the ATM screen and follow the directions of the mobile application of their respective bank.

Includes the amount needed to dispense cash from the ATM machine and include the ampin.

According to the company, the QR code feature makes cash withdrawals faster and more secure and eliminates the possibility of compromising with ATM PIN or card skimming.

“The new Touchless ATM solution is an extension of the flagship QR cash solution that ensures the safety of users and provides an uninterrupted cash withdrawal experience with enhanced security,” said Robbie B. Gayle, Chairman and MD of AGS Transport Technologies Limited.

With minimal investment, banks can enable this solution by upgrading existing software for their ATM networks.

AGSTTL has so far installed, maintained and operated a network of more than 722,000 ATMs across the country and provided customized solutions to the top banks.

The company had earlier introduced the UPI-QR based cash withdrawal solution in partnership with Bank of India.

This is how the solution works.

Open the bank’s mobile application on your smartphone and select QR Cash Withdrawal. Enter the amount you want to withdraw in the mobile app and scan the QR code on the ATM screen.

Next, confirm the amount by clicking ‘Forward’ in the application and enter the MPIN to approve the transaction. Now collect cash and receipts and your work is done.

Mahesh Patel, President of AGS Transact Technologies and Chief Technology Officer of the group, said, “The non-stop, cardless and touchless withdrawal system is designed to provide smooth transaction flow without the need to touch the ATM screen or enter the PIN.”
